It´s dusk in Rio, I sit (slouch) atop of the infamous Sugar Loaf Mountain. The sea glistening on scrapers.
I´m waiting...
...Waiting for that fiery ball to disappear into the Horizon.
Its visually stunning.
I´ve been doing this all day (...the sight seeing thing that is). This morning was spent at the Corcovado (the Christ Redeemer), went to Copacabana beach and now I´m here (Sugar Loaf Mountain).
My Camera has taken many a postcard photo and yet something isn´t sitting right with me...
Is this travel? ...Collecting photos of the sights?
We´ve all sat through a long video or a collection of photos (¨this is me... next to something...¨), normally by an (expectant) friend or a loved one...
.... generally seeking your Ooos and arrrs.
* a lizard passes my foot *... immediately I´m surrounded by foreign language and the clicks and bleeps of their cameras.
*Some time passes *
Suddenly I reach for my camera... The Sun has changed for a fiery orange ball unto a rose tinted melting blob...
(... were close.)
I´ve spent the day paying through the teeth, watching fellow tourists stuff their faces with ice cream and I´m left feeling a bit disillusioned...Almost cattle like....
But when that ¨rose tinted blob¨finally disappeared for that days earth rotation...the sky filled with an array of pastel colours.
Was it worth it? (....that cattle like feeling)
...totally.
Some Photos...
