Manco KoCrap

Found in Lake Titicaca ("the largest high altitude body of water in the world")...

Described (in my book) as "one of the most important religious sites in the Andean World"...

(and a mere) 9.5K in length...

...Isla del Sol (that's "Island of the Sun" folks)

...offered rather pleasant (if breathless) hiking and insight into Aymara culture.

Not uncommon in Bolivia, I had been somewhat suffering from a small bout of travellers "runny botty".
Given the islands remoteness, lack of infrastructure and lack of hygienic services...this proved to be somewhat of problem.

"Chicana" (it´s mildly impressive Inca ruins and the islands main draw) was a 40 minute stroll from its local village (and subsequently a toilet).

(In a true "up yours fashion" and) By the time I had reached the ruins...the stomach cramps had kicked in (and the urge to relieve them strong).

(Walking back and almost certainly "soiling oneself" was simply not an option.)

(in my very uncomfortable state and) Slightly broken by my predicament (and with of course... lashings of shame), I rather "covertly" located a quiet corner of the ruins...
(in what...I´d like to think...what was once someones toilet) and gave into my bowels needs.

I´m not proud to admit (although obviously think a story worth telling) but I had defecated where (according to Aymara culture) "the sun and moon were created" and "where Inca dynasty was born".

If this Inca Dynasty is (indeed) true then I´m almost certainly bound for "Uca Pacha" (the Incan equivilant of hell)... "a place where pain, hunger and cold are unending".
