Goan Going Gone

Postcard  beaches, pink sunsets, russian tourists and plastic hippies...I was confident that I wasn´t uncovering the real India.

The Goan state is divided into the 3 distinct parts... north... central... and South Goa. The north and its most popular beach Arambol (was my entry point) and lived up to its reputation for its its hippie culture... two days of drum circles, locals trying to sell me weed and what seemed like endless streets of tie-dye paraphernalia.

This was fine although I decided to move on pretty sharpish...

Taking an array of buses which took me through central Goa (and the hub of its commerce and culture) I headed to Palolem beach (Southside).... which was far more to my liking...

Same palm tree lined beaches but all together nicer, quieter, and for some reason popular with the people of Stoke Newington...

4 days of coca huts, sunburn, ... Bliss!
