More Tea Vicar

A 13 hour jeep and train connection north of Kolkata (and surrounded by neighboring Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet) I arrived in the quintessential hill station - Darjeeling.

Apart from it´s banging brews, (a rather fun) toy train and an interesting mix of Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian faces... I was here to scope out its Himalayan backdrop....

Having bumpred into Elliot a handful of times since arriving in Mumbai we decided it might be fun to go for a stroll and check out what all the fuss was about...

The Singalila Ridge Trek is a day plough through the namesakes national park... and (weather dependant) offers views of 3 of worlds highest peaks (Everest 8848m, Lhotse 8501m, Khangchengdzonga 8598m).

Our climbs, cold nights and early mornings paid off and we received two clear mornings where the cloud and mist gave way to some "properly nice" Himalayan vistas.

After a 4 day staple of Daal and Rice our group gave into our protein cravings and sacrificed a couple of (organically reared) Chickens...A somewhat harrowing (but nonetheless delicious) experience.
